Our civic foundation

The principles that connect us.

A secular democratic Iran, held together by equal citizenship and a shared national future.

01

Secular democracy

Political legitimacy comes from the freely expressed will of citizens. Public institutions should be independent of religious authority and protect the freedom to believe, change belief or hold no religious belief.

02

Equal citizenship and the rule of law

Every person deserves equal dignity, civil rights and legal protection. The law must apply to the powerful as well as to everyone else, with independent institutions and accountable government.

03

National consolidation through pluralism

Our differences can coexist within a shared civic future. National consolidation rests on dialogue, mutual respect and a common commitment to Iran, without demanding uniformity of thought or identity.

04

Freedom of expression

A democratic culture makes room for criticism, independent writing and artistic expression. Essays and poetry belong in this conversation: one tests our arguments; the other gives form to our hopes and experience.

05

Peaceful civic participation

We support civic engagement grounded in human dignity, peaceful participation and respect for the rights of others. A free future must be built through democratic consent and institutions that serve the public.
